Green Charter Schools is adding a sixth campus this fall at BridgeWay station in Mauldin.
Known as Green Upstate High School, the campus is located in the former Samsung building at the corner of Holland and Bridges roads in Mauldin.
The school “brings a signature approach to education and creates a robust elective cycle to give students the experience to explore different career groups,” according to a press release.

The Upstate Campus is Greenville County’s third location for the charter school. It has two campuses in Greenville, one in Spartanburg, one in Irmo, and one in North Charleston.
“Our new campus at Bridgeway Station is an exciting next step in our efforts to serve more students in our personalized schools,” said Green Charter Schools Executive Director Tom Cronin. “We’re also thrilled to have Chase Willingham lead these efforts as Founding Director.”
Self-catering senior apartments on offer at BridgeWay Station
The Mauldin Planning Commission and Building Codes Departments have approved a zoning change in the planned BridgeWay Station development to allow for a 152-unit housing complex for senior living.
The city council had a first reading of the ordinance on Monday evening.
The four-story building proposed by Buvermo Investments would consist of market-priced apartments for people aged 55 and over. Access would be via internal corridors and there would be 167 parking spaces, including a garage.
Current non-residential zoning, intended for the failed Koala project, allows for light industrial and office space. A free-standing seniors’ residence would generate less traffic than either option, the developer said.
Arden at Mauldin would be nestled behind Cooper’s Lake on approximately seven acres and include recreational facilities and a dog park for its residents. While the overall plan designates the parcel as an “Employment Center”, properties in the immediate vicinity also include the subdivision, retail, mixed use and new charter school.
If the project generates more than 100 peak hour journeys or is expected to increase peak hour journeys by more than 25%, the applicant will be required to provide a traffic impact study before the final development plan can be approved, according to city staff. .
