Two people were nearly hit and one person was hit by a ricocheting bullet during a drive-by shooting at an apartment complex in Oneonta on Tuesday.

Oneonta police said at least 20 shots were fired at a building in State Road Apartments around 10:46 p.m. Tuesday, hitting six of the eight apartments in the section.

Police said 11 residents were in those apartments at the time. One bullet passed through a woman’s hair and another bullet passed inches above someone’s head while they were sleeping, but neither person was hit.

Another person was hit by a bullet that ricocheted off the ceiling, bruising his arm.

Oneonta police said no one needed medical attention.

No one was arrested Friday afternoon.
