A plane en route to Chicago from the Upper Peninsula dropped an undercarriage in a neighborhood on Thursday, January 21, Chicago Tribune Reports.
A tire and other landing gear from a small plane plunged from the sky and landed between two houses in a Chicago neighborhood around 6:19 pm; no one was injured, the newspaper reports. The small tire – for an airplane – came from a single-engine Pilatus PC12.
The unbalanced plane set off considerable sparks when it landed at Chicago O’Hare International Airport, triggering an emergency response, according to the report. Ironwood’s Boutique Airlines charter flight has landed safely; the crew and passengers were not injured.
