Update: Police standoff in Clay ends peacefully

Clay, NY – A man in conflict with law enforcement at a Clay apartment complex has been taken into custody after several hours, state police say.

According to dispatch calls from the Onondaga County 911 center, a man was feeling suicidal and his girlfriend called 911. The girlfriend told dispatchers that he had a gun and put it in them. sofa cushions.

Dispatchers told the woman to leave the house and she was able to exit the Allen Meadows Apartments apartment at 6662 Bear Road in the town of Clay, the report said.

At the scene, there were at least 15 law enforcement vehicles from the Onondaga County Sheriff’s Office and New York State Police. An ambulance had also been waiting for several hours.

Members of Parliament were seen with long guns and a state soldier was seen with a rifle.

Residents who attempted to leave their apartment buildings were told they had to stay inside. Many looked out the window trying to see what was going on.

The man was taken into custody without incident and was taken to hospital, a state police spokesperson said.

At that time, a state police spokesperson was unable to confirm whether the man had a gun.
